With No Regrets, Mr. Ludeman...

"When something important is going on, silence is a lie." - Abe Rosenthal

Thanks to ToledoTalk for finding the above quote, which I offer in response to this anti-democratic suggestion from Toledo's Council President.

Spiro Agnew, in memoriam.

I heard Ludeman's quote on the radio this morning, and I was struck by the almost fascist quality of the sentiment.

"Keep everything in council chambers..."

Ummm, Rob? I believe we elected you to represent us, not to quash dissent or censor speech.

The council members who spoke publicly about this specious use of taxpayer dollars should be commended for stepping forward and bringing this to the light of day.

Kinda like "what goes on in Vegas, stays in Vegas" style democracy! I think Rob's point was that bickering should not be done in public. DISSENT however, should be aired openly for public consumption and informational purposes. The folks who are representing us should'nt be concealing things from us.

Too bad Rob wasn't paying attention to Council's doings say 15-20 ormore years ago.

Dissent is as American as, Toyota!

Robbie should be asking for a "do over," if he had any sense, which I seriously doubt now...

Convinces me even more that I was right in disassociating myself from both political parties.
