I'm Not Now, Nor Have I Ever Been...

..."Johnny Hildo" - the political ghostwriter at The Toledo City Paper. Nor am I aware of who actually is writing under the moniker. I understand the rumors have been rampant in some quarters.

I've heard those rumors too, but to me it was obvious you are not Hildo.

Frank is busy enough without having the extra burden of a weekly column.

My guess is that Hildo is Paula Ross, but it's only a hunch.

It's a great concept, at any rate, since the buzz about the mystery writer generates interest.

I hate people who use pseudonyms to "speak their mind". If you don't have the backbone to lend your name to it, then you probably shouldn't be posting it. This "Hildo" is just another example of the backstabbing and BS that has become the LCDP. They should spend some face to face time and argue out their differences rather than all the pointless sniping.

Again, Sepp, you and I are in agreement....the B team elected officials always had seats on the local executive committee - I remember some classic arguements - once Betty Shultz openly threatened to punch Jim Ruvolo! - Domenic always had a chance to stand up and be heard - this group came in and kicked out anyone who wasnt "on-board." If loyal Democrats aren't welcome at meetings, we find other outlets for our ideas - such as this blog, for instance.

It seems to me (outside looking in) that egos are playing a major part in the split. Sooner or later a few people are going to have to swallow some humble pie and work together. The question is WHO will be the bigger man in all this and take the first step?

The split is sad, and it hurts more than politicians. It hurts those who they are elected to serve. It is a shame to see Domenic and others still bullying the party, grinding real progress to a halt. Toledo is not in a place that we can afford to be run by such anti-visionaries. We need investment and growth, not infighting and greed.

Who WILL be the bigger person? Carty tonight said that tommorow, after the elections, "there is no A-Team, no B-Team. We will stand as a party united." Great message, lets see him do more than kiss up to Ted Strickland in a speech, lets see him make changes.

Hildo? Gotta go! Grow a spine, use a real name.

here's the spoiler...

"hildo" is a group of people at the City Paper

Not the way I hear it, unless the "group" is now a cover for one person who has been doing the column.

Frank- there seems to be some trouble brewing about Domenic Montalto regarding his statement in The Blade yesterday. He asserted to Tom Troy that Bob Vasquez didn't turn in an application to fill McCloskey's seat.

Vasquez [according to blogs] said that he did back in late April.

Do you have any info on this?

I suspect that Ernie Berry is Johnny Hildo.

There's no way that Frank can be Johnny Hildo. For example, Johnny Hildo took shots at Karyn "Parking Ticket" McConnell-Hancock (i.e. saying that she's arrogant and self-absorbed) while Frank went out of his way to defend her.
