Billy Shouldn't Shop At Wal-Mart

Click here for one of many good reasons to buy union and avoid anti-union retailers.

Can anyone prove for a fact that our union retailers aren't buying from sweatshops? Just because a retailer has union employees in AMERICA cannot gaurantee that some of the goods it purchases from OVERSEAS aren't made under sweatshop-like conditions. Get fed the B.S and repeat the B.S! If walmart unionized today, the sweatshop issue would dry up and be swept under a rug since the unions here will be getting their share of the employees check.

as long as we're cutting and pasting, check this out:

from the chart, I dont see one single supplier that Walmart buys from that some other big name who ISNT singled out by you union supporters doesnt also buy from.

AND - if you take the columns that compromise Kmart and Sears, and combine them - as they SHOULD be, you'll see that they actually come out WORSE than Walmart!!

What about the many other reasons? Like men getting paid more than women, unaffordable health care? i wonder how the poor people who work there manage to get raises - or is that a good thing for anti-union people like yourselves. Take a look at the store in Canada, they managed to get a union there and look what happened - they closed the store. BUY UNION - BUY AMERICAN.

Hey Anonymous,
Wake up. It's 2005 and fair practices in the workplace have been around for some time thanks to the ability to sue. You don't need a stupid union (mob boss) to take your money for protection.

Unions had a their time in history when they were needed. That time has passed.

I think the entire "men paid more than women" is bunk. Maybe in the upper mgmt positions men negotiate better than women do but, that another ball of wax. The union wants nothing more than it's cut of a worker's check and at best tries to get a job that is worth 8 bucks an hour moved up to 12 bucks an hour. Why? Bigger checks =bigger union dues. Those higher employee labor costs get sent right to the consumer. Being a stockperson at a store is a job but can you really call it a career? The turnover rate at those places would blow your mind and in the end the biggest winner is ...the union that got your money while it lasted. So they closed a union store in canada? The losers turned out to be everyone who had a job there and, the consumers who now have no store and the city that was getting taxes from it all.

Those last couple anonymous postings are pretty lame. Seems to me there have been more CEO's wearing handcuffs the past ten years than union leaders, ingrate.

frank, back to the title of your post -
any comment about the article I posted showing that Sears/Kmart corp buys more from sweatshops than walmart does, but you say nothing about boycotting those places??

Like I said Billy, the second that wall-mart is unionized they'll all forget about sweatshops when the union dues start rolling in as if it never happened. If the unions really cared, they would be organising the sweatshops instead of the places that purchase from them. the union dues from 20 cents an hour labor must not be worth it to them.

now this is just plain funny!!!

the friggin UNION hires NON Union people at SIX bucks per hour with NO benefits to PICKET walmart who pays MORE than that AND get BENNIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats hilarious on a couple levels! Number one, the union's hypocracy, but why would you picket for $6/hr and not go inside and fill out an app and get paid more??
I guess some folks'd rather b*tch about things than do something about them!!
