Oh yes, let's disrupt a moment of concern for victims of Hurricane Katrina to offer opinions about Mr. Anonymous's favorite council candidates.

Hey - why not put this...in the correct thread?

As the magnitude of this tragedy unfolds, I am shocked almost to the point of what I felt after 9/11.

I think that the initial "things-aren't-as-bad-as-we-feared" comments from the networks lulled people far removed from the hurricane into a false sense of normalcy.

However, the idea that an entire city has been nearly destroyed is frightening, along with predictions of total deaths to be in the thousands. The television images are very disturbing, and I can't begin to grasp what it would be like, to paraphrase Chrissy Hynde, for my city to be gone.

I've been very disturbed by the images and accounts from the Gulf Coast - New Orleans in particular. Here's a link to a song that Springsteen wrote years ago - but then played beautifully on that televised 9/11 benefit. It's apropos.

I was dismayed by Bush's comment today that 'noone thought the levee would not hold.' Hogwash! He vetoed $$$ for these very levees and funneled these $$ into his IRAQ WAR!

typical - blame all our problems on Bush.

Ive got a hangnail - Bush's fault too?

Cindy sheehan has come out and said that bush's environmental policies caused the hurricane!! You know the republicans need cindy sheenan and howard dean in front of the cameras as much as possible, dont you?

Cindy Sheehan lost a son in Iraq and became a foreign policy expert why wouldn't she also be an environmental expert too? She has been adopted by every nutcase group out there and seems to parrot everything they tell her. Jeez!
